BEKA Schréder has recently hosted a series of Seminars in order to update its client base on the newly issued ARP 035 guideline, as well as on the latest developments in LED technology. The seminars were held in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Polokwane, Gaborone (Botswana), Bloemfontein, Maseru (Lesotho), Nelspruit, Swaziland, and Pretoria.

Almost 600 professionals and customers from various sectors of the industry attended these seminars, including municipal and electrical consulting engineers.

SABS have recently reissued the well-known Approved Recommended Practice (ARP) 035 document, which now includes guidance on LED technology and evaluation of LED streetlighting installations, compared to conventional streetlighting installations. BEKA Schréder presented this document and, based on this, motivated the use of LED technology within streetlighting applications.

The BEKA Schréder ARP 035 and LED Technology Update Seminar has been validated by the SAIEE as per ECSA CPD policy and has been granted 0.5 CPD credits.

The following topics were presented:
  • Update on LED technology and new product design features
  • Remote management of streetlight installations
  • ARP 035 guideline
  • Comparing LED streetlight applications to HID on new and existing installations
  • Generating cost of ownership comparisons

The following LED luminaires were showcased at the seminars:

The seminars were very well received, and BEKA Schréder’s leading role in providing professional sustainable lighting solutions was manifested once again.
